Alexander stood in front of his increasingly organized book shelves in the main room with the sudden dawning realization that he had no idea where anything was any more. Before he never knew where anything was, but he had some vague notion as to where to look. Now he had no vague notion nor any idea where to look. It was rather vexing. Part of him wanted to go through the shelves and unorganize them, but he stopped himself. Nick had been working hard on the books and it wouldn't be fair to the boy to undo all his work.

Especially since he set the boy on the task in the first place.

Who knew that getting organized would be so frustrating?

He squirms and whines, shifting his hips so Nick's fingers would drift elsewhere.

They continue their lazy circles, going up Alexander's sides.

And then Alexander lets out a long stream of curses in several languages as he struggles to sit up.

Nick blinks, startled. "What?"

"There's been a Curseword breach. There's something in the house." He shoved his pants back on, scrambling to stand up.

Nick blinks. "How? What would come in here?"

"Oh, all sorts of things. This is a practical treasure trove of magical artifacts and whatsits. I get Sues in here every once in a while, drawn to my power." His sword is there. It wasn't there a second ago.

"Is it likely to be dangerous?" He looks around nervously.

"Oh yes. But I will smite it and kill it and it will be very messy and fun." There's an eager glint in his eyes.

"You have fun, then." Nick nods.

He turns around and gives Nick a quick kiss before darting off to the locked portions of the house. A few minutes pass and then something sparkly flies past with Alexander running behind it, steadily cursing. There's a tackling noise and then more cursing and he comes back looking sour.

"Did you get it?"

"No. I did not. And not only that but it stole something."

"What did it take?"

"Your friend in the jar. It wants to try and reform him and make him not evil... and procreate."

"...you must be joking." Look of horrified horror.

"No. I am not joking. I wish I was joking. But I'm not."

"Oh dear. This is bad."

He slumps onto a couch. "Yes it is."

"We have to get it back."

"Yes. We do. She's probably going to go to ground on your world. We have some time because she still needs to get the jar open."

"How long?"

"I don't know. It's difficult to say. We have to see what form she's taken to get a sense of her power. The more... unrealistic she is the more power she'll have and the more likely she'll be able to open the jar."

"Well, we should get moving, then."

"You're right." he stands up with a stretch, starts to walk... stops, remembers that he's not wearing anything but his pants and stalks off to the bedroom. About ten minutes later he comes back dressed in his armor.

"Shall we try this again?"
