Alexander stood in front of his increasingly organized book shelves in the main room with the sudden dawning realization that he had no idea where anything was any more. Before he never knew where anything was, but he had some vague notion as to where to look. Now he had no vague notion nor any idea where to look. It was rather vexing. Part of him wanted to go through the shelves and unorganize them, but he stopped himself. Nick had been working hard on the books and it wouldn't be fair to the boy to undo all his work.

Especially since he set the boy on the task in the first place.

Who knew that getting organized would be so frustrating?

"So not in the mood to face Hedge and a Sue." he grumbles, tossing clothes that clearly belong to the Sue to the side.

"Me either. Possibly less." Nick looks in another box.

"Where did she put it. It's arou... unless she gave it to daddy dearest..." oh that's a bad thought.

Oh, look, time for Nick to use a newly-learned swearword. "Fuck."

Alexander swears creatively. "She's coming back, with daddy in tow."

Nick ducks behind Alexander. Call him scared- he is.

"...free magical creature with him. Very powerful! I think it's effecting his mind," Serenitiel said tugging on Hedge's arm, trying to get him to come faster.

Alexander stood protectively in front of Nick, sword drawn.

"I'll have to do something about it." There's a very faint chime, like bells being drawn, and Hedge comes through the door of the tent.

"Hello again. We just keep on running into each other don't we?" Alexander said with mock cheerfulness. His eyes were watching both Hedge and Serenitiel (who had come in behind her "father") wairly.

"So we do." Hedge growls and swings Saraneth, concentrating on Alexander- hey, maybe it'll work this time.

Nick just stays undercover.

Sues are fantastic things, especially when it comes to making things go their own way. This one was rather powerful and she lent her power to daddy and his bell. The result of this was that Alexander found himself fighting against becoming a free-magic creature and being bound by the bell, because that's what the Sue wanted him to be.

"Gnnn.."

Hedge smirks at Alexander's struggle, pulling out Ranna as well.

Nick frowns. "Alexander, what's wrong?"

Serenitiel slipped over to Nick, putting her hand on his arm, tugging at him, "Daddy's just getting him under control. They're dangerous," she said sweetly before glaring at Alexander.

"He's not dangerous! He's very nice." Nick frowns and tugs his arm away from Serenitiel.

Hedge adds Ranna's song to Saraneth, weaving a web of sleep around Alexander.

"Gnnn...nn..." Alexander snarled, fighting back against the web. But the Sue kept her attention steady on him.

"He won't be when Daddy is done with him, I promise, he'll be okay." And she tugged at Nick again, trying to get him to move away from Alexander.

"No, really, I'm madly in love with him and I don't want him hurt." Nick pulls away from Serenitiel and lunges for Hedge's bells, muffling the sound for a moment before he gets pushed away.

Alexander took that moment to break free and make his own lunge at Serenitiel who was standing rather close to him. The two of them went down in a heap and there was some shrieking which ended when Alexander cut her throat.

Panting he knelt over her body.

Nick is pushed into the side of the tent by Hedge, who- after blinking in shock at Serenitiel's death- advances on him.

Unfortnately he's still reeling from her control and trying to figure out exactly what he is, so he doesn't notice Hedge coming towards him.

Hedge lets Saraneth ring out again, loud and clear. He can deal with Nick as long as he gets this pesky being out of the way first.

One of the interesting aspects of Alexander's powers was adaptability, and suggestibility. They took suggestions and cues from the enviornment in an effort to fit in. The last suggestion it had was free magic creature.

Guess what it listened to.

Nick frowns and launches himself at Hedge, trying to break his concentration on Alexander, but Hedge knocks him aside as he puts Ranna away and takes out Kibeth.

Alexander scratched at the dirt, trying to force his way back from free magic creature, which was far too close to chaotic creature which was having such the difficult time in listening to him and the bells were so suggestable and nice.

Nick takes another run, slamming his entire body into Hedge and setting him off balance, Saraneth and Kibeth ringing uncontrolledly.

Hedge threw Nick into a shelf in the tent, sending it crashing down around him as the ringing takes control of him, sending the thin necromancer walking out of the tent.

"Nnnggh..." is really the only sound that Alexander is capable of making still caught in the bells' thrall.
