Alexander hobbled as fast as he could into the house before slamming the door shut. He then proceeded to put the house into lockdown, shutting off every available exit and entrance and revoking anyone's right to just pop in and visit. Even Mel's. The house was completely cut off from the rest of the multiverse and it would remain so until he reopened. Which wouldn't be for a while, if he had anything to say about it.

Panting he slumped against the door, leaning his head back and moaning slightly. He felt horrible. Half himself. Caught and trapped. And it was all that stupid Sue's fault. He tugged uselessly at the pendent around his neck. "Oh gods... oh gods... I can handle this. Yes... where's Nick?" He staggered up, "Nick? NICK!" he bellowed out, hoping that the boy wasn't on the other side of the door. Hoping that he had come home already.

Limping, he started to the bedroom where he hoped that Nick was.

Alexander's back in human form. He looks at the body and then at Nick. "I'll do that. You... just... wait."

Nick nods vaguely, gripping the spear until his knuckles turn white.

He picks up the body and limps deeper into the trees, far out of sight from Nick. After a few minutes smoke starts to come from the trees.

Nick isn't moving, even to sit down.

His clothes are coated in blood when he comes back, wiping his hands sort of useslessly on the jacket. When he sees that Nick hasn't moved, he sighs and goes over to him. Gently he removes the spear from Nick's hands, tossing it to the side and then leads him away from the blood stained grass.

"I wasn't expecting that much blood." He shudders and starts coughing, hacking and violent.

Alexander doesn't say anything. There really isn't anything to say to that. He rubs Nick on the back though as he coughs.

The fit passes and Nick wipes his mouth, still extremely pale. "I think I need to go home and take a bath."

"Alright. We'll do that," he says. He doesn't mention that he's still bound. He doesn't want to worry Nick any further. Instead he lets his mind drift until he finds the right threads and opens the door way home.

Nick walks through rigidly, heading for the bathroom. "Last time, she just disappeared. And there were, there were sparkles."

"Last time she was a Sue. This time... apparently someething in the Nexus got her. It made her not a Sue, but a real girl," he says, following him with a limp. He's not sure if he should have told him that, but he felt that Nick should know the truth of it all.

"W-would she have turned back?" Nick looks at him, hoping for a positive answer.

"Knowing the Nexus, most likely." It's not a yes. But it's the closest he'll give. He's not going to lie to Nick.

"But she might not have? She would have, right?" Nick's practically desperate.

"I..honestly don't know," he says, looking at Nick sadly.

"Oh." Nick blinks slowly, and then turns away from Alexander and throws up.

Alexander leaned against the wall, tipping his head back, feeling horrible. Down right disgustingly horrible. Like scum, horrible. "I'm sorry, Nick."

"No. I wanted to. She was just a girl." Nick stumbles up and towards the bathroom again.

He'll clean up the mess later, when Nick is tucked into bed, safe and sound. "I shouldn't have put you in that position." Alexander said, following him.

He shakes his head. "It's not your fault. How could I want to do that? I'm not a monster, am I, Alexander? I wanted to do worse, I wanted to let her die slowly but she was just lying there and I couldn't and..."

Nick shudders violently.

Alexander pulls him into his arms, holding him tight and close. "No, love, you're not a monster. You're not. A monster wouldn't feel like you do now."

Nick clings tightly, not entirely reassured.

He lets him cling, holding him tightly, in a hard grip. "It's my fault. I should have called you off."

Nick shakes his head. "Not your fault. I saw she was different."

"But I still told you to go," he sighs. "We're going to go around in circles on this issue."
