The workshop was kept fastidiously neat. More so than the rest of the rooms in his house. It was the cleanest and most organized room in the house. Despite his packrat tendencies, he knew that a clean workshop was a safe and productive one. It was both a mundane and magical workshop, letting him work on simple wood carvings or the delicate intracies of a universe in the same room.

He sat, half dressed and hair tied back, on a wooden stool setting up a stasis field of some sort over a work bench. On the bench was a sliver of shiny silvery blue metal. A shard of a sword he had picked up in the Nexus. The shard had tried to turn him good, then evil, then young, then sane, then insane, but as he was not always totally good, nor totally evil but completely and utterly irrivokably nuetral that it couldn't do anything to him. As for his age, his shape was of his own choosing and he could chose a younger form if he so wished. Sanity came and went as it pleased, no sword fragment was going to change that. That was not what caught his interest though.

No, today, Alexander was interested in trying to reconstruct the sword using the shard as a base pattern and try and weave out what had been into what would be. It was easy enough, really, it just took a lot of fine tunning and delicate work.

THe stasis field was set, rotating slowly. Picking up the shard in a pair of tweezers he set it into the field. It shimmered for a moment and then glowed a steady blue. He picked up another instrument from the work bench, a thin piece of wire, He pushed the wire into the field and drew it out from the shard several times creating a thin spidery web. Still using the wire he poked a few holes in the web into another deminsion.

Satisfied, he leaned back and watched it for a moment, before scooting his stool over to another work bench. This one empty. He stared at it for a long moment before waving his hand over it. A thin three demensional network of interconnecting lines appeared before him. He studyied it for a long moment before murmurring, "If I was a soul shard... where would I be?"

"Oh, I expect I'll wake up any minute now."

He gets a look on his face. It's rather hard to describe, like a mixture of annoyance and disapointment and a hint of sadness. "And if you don't wake up? Is there no way I can convince you that this is no dream?"

"I don't know. I really don't." He sighs, sorry to have made dream-Alexander sad.

"There must be some way. I dislike taking advantage of you like this," he says running the back of his hand down Nick's face.

Nick leans into it, probably unconsciously. "Even my hallucinations are moral. I must be a terribly boring person."

Alexander gave a bark of laughter. "If I was a moral person you wouldn't be here, naked I might add, to await my pleasure."

Nick sighs comfortably. "Oh, well, I supose."

This earned an eyebrow raise, "Oh well? What is this oh well, we're oh welling about? Do you actually enjoy being used like this?"

Nick blinks. "Well, I don't not enjoy it. There's certainly enjoyment."

He pulled Nick over onto his lap, nuzzling him. "And if this wasn't a dream, would it still be enjoyable?"

"If this weren't a hallucination... I'd probably be wearing clothes. And... not be so public. But there'd be parts I'd enjoy." Nick frowns. After all, this sort of thing isn't exactly common practice in his world.

"You were the one who chose to come down here naked. You had every oppertunity to put on clothes. And I'd hardly say we were being public. What parts would you enjoy?" he asked, continuing to nuzzle him.

"It's not important to wear clothes, I am the only thing real here... and the, mmm, bedroom- or rooms that substitute for it- parts. And the general nnnuzzling..." Said nuzzling is very distracting.

"And what if this isn't a dream? What will you do?" He kissed him lightly on the shoulder.

"I have no idea." He turned around so he could kiss Alec.

"I'm glad it is just a dream."

Alexander kissed him back, running his hands through his hair. He then rested his head on Nick's shoulder. "I wish you didn't think it was. I would show you the multiverse and how it works."

"Why can't you show me anyways?"

"What good would it do to give you knowledge, if you don't believe it's real? Why should I show you something beautiful, if you don't believe it exists?"

"Because maybe you'll convince me later."

He chuckled softly, "Mmm... my delusional one you leave nothing to chance do you. Such a man of science."

"Well, yes, I am." Nick shrugged. "What is that you keep calling me, anyways?"

"That is mmm... how to translate it... Delusional one, I think is the closest translation to your language. A nick name in my home language for you. Better than 'pretty one' don't you think?"

"If slightly less flattering." Nick chuckled slightly.

"Perhaps, when you stop thinking that this is all a dream, I will come up with a new name for you. Until then you are my little delusional one," he said, running his hands lightly over Nicholas' skin.

"Mm, I suppose that's only fair." He arches his back, pressing into Alexander's hands.
