Nick was gone. Alexander had sent the boy back home to finish things that needed to be finished off. He wasn't going to take him away from his life when there were things that needed to be done there. Which left him all alone. It was damn empty with out him, now that Alexander thought of it.

"A prideful bastard like you not look? I am shocked, Alec." She looks at the bag.

"Where do I put it?" she asks.

"I never said I didn't look for me." he gestures her out of the library. "Have the other shards up in the big workshop."

Melinda nods. "I'll go put them up there. And by the time I come back, you will have looked for me. And that's an order." She walks off to put it with the other shards.

He blinked and then grabbed the book, flipping through the pages with an amused expression on his face.

"Well? Did you find me or you?" she asks, appearing randomly in the way she does.

"I was trying to get to a party on a regular world. I wanted to dance where nobody would know me. It landed in my drink." she scowls.

He does not laugh. Nope. There is not a hint of a snigger. A bit of a smirk or anything else that would indicate amusement. Not a bit. "Really?"

"Really." she knows he's amused. She glowers.

"Now aren't you being rude... telling me to hush in my own home." He's still page flipping.
