Alec is sitting in his kitchen with a large mallet. He is glaring at his kitchen table with the sort of look that one reserves for their most hated enemies. Every few minutes or so the sound of bagpipes would crawl from it. In response, Alec would slam the mallet onto the surface.

He's been doing this for the past six hours.

He twists in the seat, to kiss Alec. "Just disrupts a perfectly good hug."

Phoenix flops back a bit, then fidgets, and ends up plonking a cushion on Alec's lap, laying his head on it and looking up.

Continuing to stroke his hair, he asks, "What's wrong? You feel exhausted."

Finally ceasing the fidgeting, he relaxes. "Had to heal a couple of bullet wounds, and I don't think I rested up properly after taking care of Janie."

Phoenix manages a smile, reaching up to touch Alec's chin. "I'm okay, just knackered."

Clucking his tongue in irritation, he says, "I am going to have to tie you to the bed aren't I?"

Cue the obligatory ten-year-olds smirk. "Like to see you try."

"Is that a challenge?"

Phoenix is far too tired, and it would be pathetically easy for Alec to stop him teleporting.

"That depends on whether or not you'd just leave me there, to teach me a lesson."

"I can't leave you alone anywhere. Lookit the trouble you get into."

That's an encouraging response. His crabby mood just seems to be lifting. Funny thing that.

"Trouble's character-building. 'Course you wouldn't need to tie me up, if you were there to keep an eye on me." (Warning, Alec. He might conceivably fall asleep on you)

"If I were to keep a constant eye on you, I'd never get anything done." He strokes Phoenix's hair.

He relaxes even more, if Alec keeps that up, it won't be long before he's purring. "Just as well I'm perfectly capable then."
