Obviously as I am now, I can't really do squat unless Sam tells me I can do squat, but I still have resources and experince available to me.

I do believe I'm quite capable of constructing a device that'll... mmm... nullify your powers when you sleep so that way if you have a nightmare you won't change your room into jello.
