Kippurbirdy: Older:*sighs* For gods sake...
oraclevsreality: Orion: What, it's not?
Kippurbirdy: Older: No. She's not trying to steal him away from Eric for her own bed.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shrugs*
Kippurbirdy: Older: She doesn't take many lovers.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Good.
Kippurbirdy: Older: She's not a flirt like me.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shrugs*
Kippurbirdy: Older: But she does love you as a friend.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I'm *so* happy.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*sighs* You have a son, you know.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Whatever.
Kippurbirdy: Older: With Mel.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Because she loves me like a friend. *bitterly mocking tone*
Kippurbirdy: Older: Well not that Mel. The two of you fell in love. It was very sweet.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *grits his teeth*
Kippurbirdy: Older: I only point this out to let you know that there is life possible without Eric.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shrugs*
Kippurbirdy: Older: I'll have to introduce you one day.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I'd rather not.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Why not?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I don't... it's... *shrug*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*waits*
oraclevsreality: Orion: I just don't want to. It'd be weird.
Kippurbirdy: Older: After all this time, you're afraid of a little something weird?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I just don't want to.
Kippurbirdy: Older; He's a good kid. Takes after you.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Fanfuckingtastic.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I wonder if Mel and I have any kids.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shrugs* You're the irritating know-it-all.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Am I that irritating?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I hate you.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I'm sorry you feel like that. I'm still not going to leave you alone.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *closes his eyes*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*is silent*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Why is this so important?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Because I care about you and I don't want to see you get broken.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I'm already broken.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*shakes his head* No, you're not broken. Not yet.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Why do you say that?
Kippurbirdy: Older: I've seen broken. I've been broken. The Orion with Alec? He's broken.
oraclevsreality: Orion: It's a different kind of broken. I just want to lay down and never. ever. move.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Have you even mourned yet?
oraclevsreality: Orion: What?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Mourned, for Eric's death.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Why?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Because he's dead.
oraclevsreality: Orion: You think I don't know that?
Kippurbirdy: Older: This is why we mourn for people. Because they're dead.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shudder*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*softly* It helps.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shakes his head*
Kippurbirdy: Older: It's okay to mourn. It's okay to cry.
oraclevsreality: Orion: No. No, if I start, I won't stop.
Kippurbirdy: Older: It's okay. I promise you. You can cry. And it's okay if you don't stop.
oraclevsreality: Orion: He isn't *gone*. I don't have to mourn him.
Kippurbirdy: Older: The one you loved is gone. You buried him, didn't you?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I didn't go to the funeral.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Why not?
oraclevsreality: Orion: They never told me where it was.
Kippurbirdy: Older: You could have found out.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I tried. God, I tried, you think I didn't want to be there? When they- they didn't want me there.
Kippurbirdy: Older: *licks his lips* Have you seen his grave yet?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I couldn't go.
Kippurbirdy: Older: The funneral is over.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I couldn't I couldn't I *can't*. *shudders, wraps his arms around himself*
Kippurbirdy: Older: You need to say goodbye.
oraclevsreality: Orion: No. No. *headshaking*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*Nods* I could take you to him.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shudder*
Kippurbirdy: Older: *holds out his hand* I could take you to him. And you could say good bye and pay your respects.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I can't...
Kippurbirdy: Older: You can. I'll be right there with you. You won't be alone.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Such a comfort. *takes his hand*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*gives it a squeeze* *And they're at the graveyard, in front of Eric's grave*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *stares at it, face blank- almost uncomprehending*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*stands quietly by his side*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *tiny voice* ...why did you have to leave me?
Kippurbirdy: Older:*says nothing. Is not his place, but kips is all sniffly*
oraclevsreality: Orion: You *left* me and I can't *be* here without you and I *need* you. *is not crying, but Chloe is*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*is not crying either, but Kips is.*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *sits down* I miss you. You need to come back. Please.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*stands behind him, not touching*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *voice a little wobbly* Please? I love you. I love you, Eric, you *left* me. I don't *understand*.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*oh dear gods... he doesn't understand death*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Why can't you come back? I'm dead too, why can't we be together? I need you. Please, please, please, *please*.
Kippurbirdy: Older: *looks like he wants to say something, but doesn't.*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *wipes his eyes* Why did you have to go? It isn't fair. Please come back, lover, please.
Kippurbirdy: Older: *still quiet*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *tear trickles down and he gets quiet too, clutching the necklace around his neck*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*sits next to him*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Is this my fault? Didn't I take care of you enough? Did I do something wrong? Why did you have to die? *crying more now*
Kippurbirdy: Older: *opens his mouth to speak*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *crying quietly* I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Kippurbirdy: Older: *touches him lightly*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shivers and buries his face in his knees, sobbing*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*Puts his jacket around him,*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *doesn't stop- has however-long-it's-been of grief stored up*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*waits and sits paitently*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *cries like that for an hour or more before petering off a bit*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*doesn't move the entire time.*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *scrubs at his face*
Kippurbirdy: Older: *hands him an embroidered hanky*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *blows his nose*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*rubs his back gently*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *moves forward, brushes his fingers over the engraving on the grave stone* Why couldn't I go with him?
Kippurbirdy: Older: That's one of the problems of being immortal.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *leans his forehead against it, singing quietly, his voice breaking at points* If you c-call, I will answer... 'fyou fall, I'll p-pick you up... oh *god* let me *die*.
Kippurbirdy: Older: *quietly* I suppose... that could be possible.
oraclevsreality: Orion: It could?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Very few people are truly immortal.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *nod*
Kippurbirdy: Older: I imagine, if I looked hard enough, I could find a way to kill you.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Please.
Kippurbirdy: Older: *looks at him* It will take time. And it is not something I will undertake lightly. You are my friend, Orion.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Please, Alec. *doesn't take his eyes from the stone, reaches up to unfasten the angel-wing earring he wears*
Kippurbirdy: Older: You never let me kill myself.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shrugs, makes a little hole in the ground and puts the earring in, then covers it up* So?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Why didn't you?
oraclevsreality: Orion: You still had things to live for.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Like what?
oraclevsreality: Orion: Michael. The Inn.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Do you think you could live for Mel and I?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I need more. You're both friends, but I need *more*. And I don't think I'm going to find it.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Have you even given it a chance? Give it a chance, please. I'm asking you.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I want to be with him.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I wanted to be with my wife and children, Orion. I want to be with them.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *huddles against the stone* I don't know
Kippurbirdy: Older: I haven't been home in ages, Orion. My entire family is dead and I can't join them. My great-great-great-great-nieces and nephews are dead. My world is dead. And I can't join them. I still live on.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Please. I know it hurts. But you have to try.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Why?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Because I need you.
oraclevsreality: Orion: What? Why? *tracing the engraving, it seems to be very calming*
Kippurbirdy: Older: You and Mel... you're immortal like me. You're one of the few people I know that are still around from when I was younger.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Oh. *fingers pause on Eric's name* They didn't even put anything on this. Like 'loving partner and son' or anything. Just his name. Just *dates*. Didn't they love him?
Kippurbirdy: Older:*shrugs*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Bastards. *frowns*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*runs his fingers over the stone* Would you like me to fix it?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I don't know what I'd want on there.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Well if you figure it out.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *nods*
Kippurbirdy: Older: *rubs the stone* My mother was an earth wizard. She died when I was ten... fell down the stairs... trip on a toy of mine. It was a horrible stupid death. I was sent to tell my father about it... he told me to stay at the store and wait for him to come back. He never came back for me. I sat there for hours, not knowing if my mother was dead or alive or what... and after a while, I didn't want to be found... because then she'd still be alive.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I was there when he died. He was sick in the hospital and I had to be invisible because no one was allowed to see him.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*nods* I didn't understand how she could have died... it was just a fall. I had fallen lots of times. I heard her fall I was hiding in the closet....
oraclevsreality: Orion: He knew I was there. And he said he loved me and... *shudders*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*nods*
oraclevsreality: Orion: I couldn't say anything. I didn't know what to say. What if he thought I left? Or that I didn't love him?
Kippurbirdy: Older: I think he knew.
oraclevsreality: Orion: You do?
Kippurbirdy: Older: He loved you. And you were always with him. Why would he think that you would leave him then?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I guess.
Kippurbirdy: Older: It's so.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I should have been able to make him better. I should have found something that would heal him.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I should have been able to bring my wife and kids back from the dead.
oraclevsreality: Orion: Death isn't fair.
Kippurbirdy: Older: It's not.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *clings to the stone* Why?
Kippurbirdy: Older: Because that's what happens to mortals.
oraclevsreality: Orion: It's *stupid*.
Kippurbirdy: Older: It is.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shudders again*
Kippurbirdy: Older: *rubs his back*
oraclevsreality: Orion: God. I just can't. I need him, Alec.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I know.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *gripping the stone so hard his nails are digging into it* It's like someone took my heart out and put acid there.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I know.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *wipes his eyes again*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*is silent and there*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *thunks his forehead against the rock* Ahhhgod.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*pulls him gently away, into a light hug, if he'll let him*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *one-armed hug, the other still clinging to the gravestone*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*holds him and pets*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *clings to him, too*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*lets him, holding him*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Living feels like abandoning him.
Kippurbirdy: Older: I know, but it's not.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shiver*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*hugs him tightly*
oraclevsreality: ((brb))
Kippurbirdy: ((k))
oraclevsreality: Orion: *deep, shuddering breaths*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*holds him*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Thank you for bringing me here.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*nods*
oraclevsreality: Orion: Even if it hurts. And my eyes hurt. And I have a headache.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Crying like that will do it for you. At least you're not injured as well.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shrugs*
Kippurbirdy: Older: But... do you feel better... a little?
oraclevsreality: Orion: I don't know.
Kippurbirdy: Older: Fair enough.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *sighs*
Kippurbirdy: Older: If you don't want to be alone tonight, you can stay with me and Nick. And I'll promise we'll be on our best behavior.
oraclevsreality: Orion: I want to stay here.
Kippurbirdy: Older:*Nods* All right. Do you want me to stay with you?
oraclevsreality: Orion: *shakes his head*
Kippurbirdy: Older: You know where you can find me, right?
oraclevsreality: Orion: Yeah.
Kippurbirdy: Older: And you're always welcome to find me.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *nod*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*gives him a good hug*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *hugs back, one-armed*
Kippurbirdy: Older: And you can return the jacket when I see you next.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *nods*
Kippurbirdy: Older:*gives him a paternal kiss on the head*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *sighs, little half-twitch of his mouth which might be an effort at a smile*
Kippurbirdy: Older: I'll check up on you later.
oraclevsreality: Orion: *nod*
Kippurbirdy: Older: *vanishes*
oraclevsreality: Orion: *closes his eyes and huddles up by the gravestone*
