Alexander leads Nick into a well appointed living room, with a pair of large plush couches facing each other in front of a massive burning fireplace. A small table with a glass covering on it sits between the two of them. The floor is hardwood with a thick persian rug on it. Sleeping on one of the couches is a small brown fire lizard. There are two doors in the room, one to the right and the other to the left. Both entrances are dark. Tall bookshelves line the walls and are stuffed with books and other interesting things, like a war hammer, a pair of bateranges, a collection of jewels, a set of rings and hundreds of other things from different universes. It is apparent that Alexander is a pack rat of the highest order. Nothing seems to be set in any particular order, but it is EVERYwhere.

In a corner is a skeleton of some sort of monsterous humanoid with the head of a bull. Next to it is a knight's black armor, missing it's arms and legs and coated in blood. There are several shields above the fireplace and an umbrella stand has swords sticking out of it. There's a liquor cabinet against one of the book shelves with all sorts of interesting shaped bottles.

Tossing his cloak onto a couch, he said, "Sorry about the mess. I don't get many visitors."

"Very. I built it myself. We're in a pocket dimension that I created. There's no way out except by me. It's much more secure that way. Don't have to worry about theives," he says without looking up from his book.

"I see. Would you care to let me out?" Trying to be subtly intimidating probably doesn't work on embodiments of Chaos, but Orannis might as well.

"I was busy trying to seduce the man who's body you are currently posessing, when you came along. I'd really like to finish that portion of my evening before I let anyone go," he said and looked up at Orannis blandly. "Unless you'd care to take his place?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
Orannis really can't deal with this. Nick's body collapses into a heap on the floor.

"Am I really that repulsive?" Alexander asks Trey. "I mean that's the second man who's fainted on me today."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
Nick wakes up slowly. "What happened?"

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
"You fainted. Have you been feeling well lately?" Alexander sounds very concerned and goes over to help him up.

"Ah, no, I've actually been rather ill. I'm not sure why- possibly the climate..." He looks very pale, and his skin is cold.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes. The climate," He nods understandingly. "Wet and clammy?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, like I said, by a lake. And it storms every day- the thing we're unburying attracts lightning at an enormous rate."

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
"How terrible." he leads him over to the couch. "What are you trying to unbury?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, there are these hemispheres- made of silver, or a metal like it. They attract the lightning. I'm going to take them to Ancelstierre and put them in a construct I've had built and join them together, to make them into a steady power source." His eyes light up as he talks- he's obviously excited.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Really? That'll run on electricity from the lightening that's attracted to it?" he sounds genuinaly interested.

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes! It'll be more efficient and cleaner than any source we've found yet." Of course, it'll also destroy the world. Sigh. These new energy plans always have downsides.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
"How will you control the input?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, we'll have regulating devices on the power cables, of course. I don't think we'll be able to control the amount of lightning it gets." Nick's looking around for his brandy now.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Alexander hands him a glass of brandy. "How will you prevent an overload, if you can't control the amount of lightening it gets?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
He sips it. "Well, we'll have to set up some way to siphon off the power before it gets too much, of course."

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course," he has another brandy. "Is there a way you could prevent lightening from striking the hemispheres?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't believe so. They seem to attract it naturally- I'm constantly frightened for the safety of the workers digging them out, but they seem to avoid the lightning quite handily."

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
"What if you were to cover it with something? And only expose it to the sky when you need energy."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's barely exposed now, and the lightning has been coming since we started digging."

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Was lightening hitting it before?"

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
"No, it wasn't. It started after we started breaking through the layers of 'wards' that were around the hemispheres." Nick finishes off his brandy.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
"There's your answer then. Get someone to set up new wards."
