[Open] in the workshop.

The workshop was kept fastidiously neat. More so than the rest of the rooms in his house. It was the cleanest and most organized room in the house. Despite his packrat tendencies, he knew that a clean workshop was a safe and productive one. It was both a mundane and magical workshop, letting him work on simple wood carvings or the delicate intracies of a universe in the same room.

He sat, half dressed and hair tied back, on a wooden stool setting up a stasis field of some sort over a work bench. On the bench was a sliver of shiny silvery blue metal. A shard of a sword he had picked up in the Nexus. The shard had tried to turn him good, then evil, then young, then sane, then insane, but as he was not always totally good, nor totally evil but completely and utterly irrivokably nuetral that it couldn't do anything to him. As for his age, his shape was of his own choosing and he could chose a younger form if he so wished. Sanity came and went as it pleased, no sword fragment was going to change that. That was not what caught his interest though.

No, today, Alexander was interested in trying to reconstruct the sword using the shard as a base pattern and try and weave out what had been into what would be. It was easy enough, really, it just took a lot of fine tunning and delicate work.

THe stasis field was set, rotating slowly. Picking up the shard in a pair of tweezers he set it into the field. It shimmered for a moment and then glowed a steady blue. He picked up another instrument from the work bench, a thin piece of wire, He pushed the wire into the field and drew it out from the shard several times creating a thin spidery web. Still using the wire he poked a few holes in the web into another deminsion.

Satisfied, he leaned back and watched it for a moment, before scooting his stool over to another work bench. This one empty. He stared at it for a long moment before waving his hand over it. A thin three demensional network of interconnecting lines appeared before him. He studyied it for a long moment before murmurring, "If I was a soul shard... where would I be?"

"Master Nicholas had no use for it, I'm afraid. Sorry to upset you."

Alexander gave a bark of laughter. "No, of course he didn't," he said in mocking tones, "Not with you controling his every wish and want."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
"What makes you say that? Master Nicholas knows his own desires." Hedge chuckles, just this side of malevolently.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
"And recently his desires happen to lie with me. As such I've claimed him as mine and will not allow anything to happen to him," he stated and gave off a show of power, essentially cutting the spell that Hedge had woven off and reversing the effects so that Nick should be a bit less eager to go to rest.

Nick blinks and straightens up. "What's going on here, Hedge?"

Hedge's hands go to his bells- one hand on Saraneth, Binder, which binds the listeners to its wielder's will, and the other on Kibeth, Walker, which controls its listener's movements.

The bells heat up under Alexander's gaze, "Do it and I will melt them without a thought."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hedge pulls his hands away before they're burned. "Who are you?"

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
"I told you my name already. I do not think you have forgotten. But if you mean what am I, that is a matter of some discussion. Let it be said that I'm very old, very powerful and very cranky when things that are mine get used in ways that I don't like."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
Hedge snorts. "Are we still talking about the bauble, or the boy?"

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Both. And I notice he is no longer Master Nicholas. Do you hear this my delusional one?" Alexander gazed over at Nick, who had been silent for most of this.

Nick nods, frowning slightly.

Then he doubled over in pain.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
Alexander started and let out a small curse. "I suppose now your Master wishes a few words with me," he said to Hedge.

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
Nick straightened back up, white smoke coiling from his mouth and nose. "Troven, you fool. Why would you come here?"

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Because I promised Nicholas that I would. And because I am not frightened of you."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
Hedge takes advantage of Alec's distraction to pull out his bells, carefully muffling them.

Orannis looks him over, and then laughs- a nasty, unpleasant sound. "You should be. Now be still!" A gesture, and an attempt to freeze him where he stands.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I never listened to anyone when they told me that, why should I listen to you?" Alexander said, feeling like he was young again. This was so much fun! He took a step forward, definatly.

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Orannis frowned and pushed hard with his will as Hedge swung Saraneth and Kibeth, willing Alexander to return to his home.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I thought I said no playing with the bells." They heat up again as Alexander politely ignores any sort of suggestion that he should bugger off.

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
Hedge puts them away. "Master, this... man... is beyond the power of the Bells."

Orannis screamed, a much worse sound than his laughter.

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
"That would be because I am not a man."

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
Orannis purred. "No? What are you?"

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
"An embodiment of Chaos," He tilted his head, eyes narrowing a bit.

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
The Destroyer laughs again. "We're kin, you know. Free Magic and Chaos..."

[identity profile] master-troven.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
"I never liked half my kin, so don't think that'll earn you any favors with me." He affected an easy and relaxed air, leaning back onto nothing.

[identity profile] accidental-evil.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't like mine either." Orannis walked over to Alexander and loomed.

"Your interference with this body will do nothing. I will be unbound and he will die in the process."
